Bentonite in agriculture is used as a mineral component in the production of feed additives, fodder mixtures, mixed fodder for all types of farm animals, including birds and fish. Bentonite improves feed digestibility, helps to increase immunity and the average daily weight gain of animals.

Bentonite takes an active part in proliferative processes of organs and tissues, intensifies protein biosynthesis, promotes normalization of metabolic processes, better use of nutrients, trace elements and vitamins, is a stimulant of animal productivity. It improves the strength of pellets when pelletizing feed, and it is thermostable.

Bentonite has high adsorption, catalytic, ion-exchange activity. It adsorbs well alkaloids, dyes, heavy metals, toxins of microorganisms, nitrates and nitrites, other harmful substances.

In addition, bentonite is widely used:

• In the manufacture of bedding dehumidifiers – designed to control moisture, pathogens and ammonia. Bedding dehumidifier improves sanitary and hygienic conditions for newborn animals and staff work;
• In soil amelioration – as a carrier of nutrient elements for plants. Having the properties to retain moisture and nutrients, bentonite forms a favorable environment for plant nutrition in the root zone;
• For seed granulation – seeds are enclosed in a mixture of bentonite clay and water, which is formed into a ball by extrusion. After “pelletizing” the clay balls with the seeds are simply spread.
