Bentonite for waterproofing

Бентонит для гидроизоляции

Geosynthetic Clay Liners are geosynthetic waterproofing materials with bentonite granules or powder, uniformly distributed in a geotextile frame. Geosynthetic clay liners are used to create anti-seepage screens, as well as to protect buried parts of building structures from moisture, and to prevent the penetration of pollutants into the soil and groundwater.

Properties and advantages of Geosynthetic Clay Liners:

  • High waterproofing properties. Filtration coefficient less than 0.7×10-11 m/s (equal to a 1 m thick clay layer);
  • Self-healing if damaged;
  • High strength, resistant to rupture, shear and soil settlement;
  • Environmentally safe;
  • Economical: reduce financial costs and work time;
  • Durable: service life of at least 65 years.

Bentonite cord is a water-swelling waterproofing cord of round or rectangular profile, of various areas. Due to the formula, upon contact with water, it increases in volume by up to 200%, ensuring the sealing of seams and joints exposed to water.

Application areas:

  • insulation of “cold” concreting joints;
  • insulation of places where communications pass through enclosing structures;
  • sealing of joints of precast reinforced concrete and concrete elements.

Properties of bentonite cord:

  • high waterproofing properties;
  • high swelling capacity;
  • good flexibility
    – the ability to rotate 180°;
    – fits tightly to the base;
  • retention of properties throughout the entire service life;
  • withstands an unlimited number of “hydration-dehydration” cycles;
  • cost-effective: high speed and ease of installation;
  • temperature range:
    – during installation from -15°С to +50°С;
    – no restrictions during operation;
  • excellent adhesion of the material to itself and to the installation surfaces (concrete, metal and plastic).
